Resident Recipe Contest Winner: Shrimp Carbonara
This dish made our resident Charles a local celebrity. He first made it in 1967 while working at Irv Morrow’s Hideaway, a nightspot and restaurant in Cherry Hill, NJ. “After I made it, I became Chef Charles. It’s been my signature dish since then,” he says. Charles went on to work at many restaurants over the years and was even named Employee of the Month at the Radisson Hotel for his exceptional cuisine. The secret to the perfect Shrimp Carbonara? “Take your time to prepare it. Make sure you would eat it before serving it. Cook from your heart, it will shine through!” he says.
