We are thrilled to announce the Dining Excellence: Chef of the Year award winners for 2020! Based on nominations from community staff, residents, and family members, our judges selected three divisional Chef of the Year winners. These individuals have made personal connections with residents and their families and exhibit Enlivant core values each and every day.
Read on to learn more about Jan Ramsay, Tracy Harder, and Cecelia Russ and their incredible work.
Jan Ramsay, Ashley Place
Jan Ramsay is committed to the details. Whether it’s spending one-on-one time with residents, fixing up their favorite off-menu dishes, or busting out her guitar to entertain us, Jan knows exactly how to delight our community. She is always willing to jump in and help wherever she is needed, even outside the kitchen. Recently, an Ashley Place resident was greeted with his favorite ham salad sandwiches upon returning from the hospital. It’s the little things that have a big impact and make our community feel like home, thanks to Chef Jan!
Tracy Harder, Kingswood Place
Tracy Harder knows the culinary likes and dislikes of every resident at Kingswood Place, which is not an easy feat! More importantly, Tracy demonstrates incredible empathy and compassion for our community. She has stayed on late to cook for a family holding vigil over a hospice resident. When a resident was recovering from surgery and nothing on the menu sounded quite right, Tracy made her favorite oatmeal, which provided great comfort. During a year of no visitors or entertainers due to COVID-19 restrictions, Tracy surprised and delighted all with her beautiful singing voice over a fun evening of karaoke. It’s easy to see why Dover Place loves her!
Cecelia Russ, Dover Place
Cecelia Russ is a strong and positive force at Dover Place. Every resident knows her by name, and she works hard to exceed their expectations every day. Dover Place Community Relations Manager Vicki Muzyk says, “I an inspired daily by Chef Cecelia. She is always reflecting positivity even when the circumstances are not so. We need this from our team members – especially during the times we have experienced in 2020.” We thank Cecelia for her excellence in and outside the kitchen.
Thanks again to Cecelia, Jan, Tracy, and ALL our Enlivant chefs for continuing to enrich resident lives!
