Read on to learn about the winners and the many ways they personify Enlivant’s core values of compassion, humility, integrity, excellence and fun each and every day.
Frank Eny- Maintenance Technician, McCullough Place
Frank is no ordinary maintenance tech. He goes the extra mile each day to bring fun to work and make meaningful connections with every resident. "Frank greets us each morning with a cup of coffee, a smile and a cheerful ‘Good Morning,’” says McCullough Place resident Julia. Known for his warmth and sense of humor, Frank can often be found in costume, bringing extra cheer to residents and staff during holidays, birthdays and other celebrations. Frank often photographs these celebrations and has prints made to share with the residents. A devoted husband, father of four and grandfather of eight, Frank’s big heart shines through in everything he does, from hosting a weekly gentleman’s club on his own time to giving special attention to a resident if he notices they are feeling down. He makes everyone laugh whenever possible. Frank is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and spent 30 years in the steel mill industry before joining Enlivant four years ago. Everyone at McCullough Place truly feels Frank’s love and compassion in every interaction.
Julius Cook- Resident Care Provider, Helena Place
“Julius has an unshakable resolve to make our community the best it can be,” says Helena Place Executive Director Lorie Kesler. Julius has made an unparalleled effort to know each resident’s personality, likes, dislikes and behaviors and tries to really understand who they are as individuals. A veteran of the U.S. Navy and Army National Guard, Julius has an unshakable desire to serve others and is active in his church and several volunteer organizations including the Alzheimer’s Association and Disabled Veterans Association. A champion of elderly causes, Julius often shares that the experiences he’s gained over the past five years with Enlivant have helped him realize that healthcare is his true calling and purpose. Helena Place’s “unsung hero,” Julius truly embodies the Golden Rule and is a true role model to not only other staff members but also the residents and their families.
Mark Ballard- Life Enrichment Coordinator, Greene Place
Mark is known for going above and beyond. Kind and friendly, he makes everyone feel at home and can often be found helping residents and staff alike. After joining Greene Place in 2017, Mark took it upon himself to enroll in a course to become certified as a Dementia Practitioner. Mark has a passion for improving quality of life and ensures those around him have a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Mark is an advocate for patients and caregivers, an active member of several caregiver groups and volunteers with the End of Life Coalition and Alzheimer’s awareness groups. He is a great resource for staff, residents and family members. As one Greene Place resident noted, “What more can I say, we can't go a day without Mark!”
Many congratulations to Mark, Julius and Frank! Our sincerest thanks for your dedication to enriching the lives of those around you.
