New Child Leave
As part of our commitment to providing employees with comprehensive health care, the New Child Leave benefit supports employees following the birth, adoption, or fostering of a child and supports their overall health, safety, and well-being.
Enlivant strives to create a compassionate and inclusive workplace that supports every employee having the opportunity to live their best life,” says CEO Dan Guill. “We are thrilled to be able to expand our benefits package to support our employees and their families across the organization."
Qualifying for New Child Leave
All regular, full-time employees who have been at Enlivant for at least six (6) months, now qualify for up to six (6) weeks of total time off as a “New Child Leave” following the birth or adoption of a child, or placement of a child for foster care. New Child Leave runs concurrently with FMLA and any other state or local leave, if applicable.
- For birthing parents: 4 of the 6 weeks may be paid (2 for medical, 2 for bonding)
- For non-birthing parents: 2 of the 6 weeks may be paid (2 for bonding)
How to Request Leave
To request leave, you must notify your supervisor and Sedgwick at least 90 days PRIOR to the proposed date of the leave. Failure to timely provide all required documentation may result in denial of New Child Leave and/or Paid New Child Leave and could subject you to discipline if your absence is not approved.
