Updates & Precautions from Enlivant on COVID-19

Update: 3-23-20: Enlivant Continues to Take Proactive Steps Against COVID-19

The safety, health, security and comfort of our residents and teams is our top priority. Enlivant is carefully following the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation and has been acting upon recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local Health Departments and state and local regulatory agencies

As we navigate this unprecedented time, we have taken further precautions across all Enlivant communities to help protect the safety health our residents and staff, including:

  • Continuing to update procedures in accordance with evolving guidance from the CDC and local and state health organizations;
  • Conducted additional training with team members following CDC recommendations, focusing on proper handwashing, housekeeping, and disinfecting;
  • Retrained our team on standard infection control precautions policies and procedures in the event a resident or employee may show signs of illness;
  • Prohibiting all non-essential visitors from entering our communities;
  • Screening all approved essential (medical) visitors and employees for signs or risk-factors of COVID-19 before each time they enter our community;
  • Regularly monitoring all residents for symptoms of COVID-19 and partnering with resident physicians;
  • Enhanced the rigor and frequency of our cleaning and sanitizing efforts;
  • Established protocols to ensure continuous supply of food, equipment, prescriptions, and all other supplies;
  • Discontinued group activities in assisted and independent living communities;
  • Discontinued organized community outings;
  • Making continued updates to policies to prohibit work for any employee that feels ill or has symptoms of a respiratory illness;
  • Restricted deliveries to non-resident areas of the building;
  • Providing ongoing briefings to staff on procedures to follow should they or someone they are in close contact with test positive for COVID-19; and
  • Revised policy for any community with a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 to suspend new resident admissions, including pending or scheduled move-ins.

We are continuing to monitor the situation and follow the guidance of health officials and authorities for responding to and preventing the spread of COVID-19. We remain focused on ensuring full implementation of our safety protocols. We are also continuously educating our residents and employees and communicating the steps that we are taking to ensure the health and safety of our communities.
